Our Story
Apricity Publishing is built on a simple belief: sometimes more is just more, not better.

Founded by strategist and author Christine Merser, Apricity publishes across genres while specializing in a distinct and emerging format, the nonfiction novella. These books are shorter, focused, and highly readable, designed to capture a story, a philosophy, or a lived professional experience without unnecessary length.
Many of the women and entrepreneurs who come to Apricity are standing at a threshold. They are preparing for a keynote, stepping into a board role, launching a new venture, exiting a company, or being asked to articulate how they built what they built. Their story already exists. It lives in talks, decks, notes, interviews, and years of experience. What is missing is one cohesive, beautifully crafted place where that story can live.
Apricity helps transform those experiences into polished, powerful books that can be read in a few hours but remembered for years.
We believe readers are hungry for wisdom, insight, and honest storytelling, but they are short on time. The nonfiction novella allows authors to respect both. It delivers clarity without filler and substance without exhaustion.
Apricity works with authors through a highly collaborative process. We help shape narrative structure, refine voice, edit for clarity and rhythm, and produce a finished book that feels both intimate and professional. Our goal is never to replace an author’s voice, only to elevate it and help it land with precision.
Apricity also partners with organizations, professional networks, and membership communities that want to help their leaders and members capture and share their professional stories. These collaborations often take the form of sponsored publishing initiatives, anthologies, or curated storytelling programs that highlight the collective wisdom of a community. In many cases, Apricity structures these partnerships through its Collaboration Partnership Program to create shared visibility, audience growth, and revenue participation for both the organization and the participating authors.​
In addition to individual books, Apricity produces annual anthologies that bring together multiple voices around shared themes. These collections allow readers to experience a range of perspectives while giving authors access to new audiences and expanded visibility. Each anthology is curated with intention and designed to reflect where business, culture, and leadership are evolving in real time.

Meet Our Publisher
Frances Pearson has spent more than ten years collaborating with clients and with the teams at Blue 2 Media, now Slate | Spark. She is the publisher of Apricity Publishing, the book publishing arm of Slate Spark. In the past five years, she has helped bring numerous books into the world, with four more coming to market in 2026. The growth reflects a simple truth. New stories are ready to be told, in a different way.

Frances brings a deep love of reading, especially historical fiction, and a practical understanding of publishing today. She connects each author with the right collaborators on the Slate Spark team based on the goals for the book and what is needed to bring it to market with clarity and care.
We do not publish a high volume of books. We publish the books we cannot wait to read. We are committed to the quality of the writing and to the message at the heart of the work. And it all begins with a conversation.​
